About the PSPG Framework

T
he idea to develop the Salesforce PSPG framework was born almost immediately after my first real encounter with a Salesforce production org. A salesforce implementation project was delivered without one single piece of documentation in terms of requirements, design, conventions, structure, etc. Almost immediately I was calling out, for a proper foundation to deliver high-quality administration and support services as the lead system administrator for an average size implementation.

A road trip down memory lane gave me a hint to developing a framework where all possible elements involving the deployment of a software platform should be documented. Years back I had been using the PSPG framework for Lotus Domino to document all this in a useful, structured, dynamic and effective way.

The idea to develop a PSPG framework for Salesforce was born. The starting point on a journey to collect the best practices using such a wide spread and growing platform as Salesforce.

At first, I started to develop a private document which ultimately would become available for anyone interested or involved in Salesforce. But then I realized that the worldwide Salesforce community is all about sharing and collaborating. So why not convert this document into a public collaboration project and make it available for everyone.

So here's the project. More parts of the initial draft framework will be published and revised when needed. As the force.com platform and it's products evolve .. so does this document.
